Coral Reef PSA (Final)

  1. This is really powerful visually. I really enjoyed the music fading out into just the sound of ocean/white noise. I also enjoyed how you presented the logo at the end with the dolphin swimming around. I might suggest using the puppet pin tool on the tail so it doesn't look like it flying instead of swimming, but it looks great. I feel like conveys more of conserving marine life as a whole rather than just the coral reef, but I think that's just your name for your PSA. Great job!

  2. The transition from the brightly colored beginning of the project to the black and white at the end really made your message clear without having to say any words. I also like how you incorporated the logo of the organization into the animation.

  3. First off, love this song endlessly. The fade from bright vivid colors to black and white is very powerful and goes well with your concept. The only thing I would say needs some improvement is there are a couple coral pieces that appear and disappear near the end, and are cut off at the top portion of the photo. Not sure if this was intentional but otherwise, love the message and relevancy of the PSA!

  4. I really enjoyed the audio- music and sound effects combined. And the world you made from coral images is impressive. Also I like the depth of field on the camera, it looks great moving through the water bottles. The transitions are good too.

  5. The concept really came through with your visual representations! I love the transition into the sea with the bubbles coming up as if we're sinking into the ocean. That was a great addition! The only random piece of critique I have is if the song could be treated to have some sort of degraded filter when transitioning to black and white. I don't know if that makes any sense, or how that's possible, but it could add an interesting element! Just a suggestion, but overall the PSA turned out great! Love the use of the logo at the end.

  6. Really cool how you made this work but the fish movement could use a little work, maybe they don't need any movement in their body but you can just rely on the movement of them going through the water?

  7. The style kind of reminds me of the "Float On" video from Modest Mouse, besides the graphical glitches mentioned I think its really strong.

  8. I feel as if you don't need the very beginning ocean segment. Maybe you could have opened the animation with the bubbles so you feel as if you're already underwater when the storyline starts. That may just be a preference thing. Overall the effects are very impressive and the PSA reads very well. Good job!
